Tripartite was selected by the Capital Development Board as Architect of Record for the roof replacement at the Illinois Youth Center located in Joliet, IL. This multi-building campus is under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. Five of the buildings including three dormitory buildings, the gymnasium and the Maintenance buildings were selected for roof replacement and other minor repairs.
The project has been broken down into several phases, the first of which has been completed under an emergency timeframe. Special attention was paid to the dormitory buildings where the maintenance of the secure perimeter at all times is critical. Further complicating the details of the work was extensive rooftop mechanical equipment and piping. The work included replacement of roofing membrane and associated repairs, repairs to exterior masonry, replacement of skylights.
